While staying in Addis Ababa and hanging out at the Fendica cultural center we came up with the idea of making a collective performance during the opening of our exhibition at the Guramayne Art Center. Our project Are You Ready? ended therefore up performing together with Daniel Alemayehu and Emebet W. Tsadik. Performing a traditional Eskista dance, known for its rolling and bouncing off shoulder movement and jilting the chest. The complex nature of Eskista makes it one of the most technical forms of traditional dance. This dance is typically performed to traditional Ethiopian music, we however used the techno track Ascension Fear by Michael Mass, caused a change in perception a manifestation of a metabolism of cultural collaboration.
