What does a neighborhood sound like, if one truly listens?
In Vågsbunnen Voices, the local community is invited to take part in a collective exploration of the urban space as a sensory, social, and political field. Through conversations, walks, and visual interventions, the project opens space for an alternative narrative of the city center—one that embraces care, participation, and solidarity across generations, beliefs, and languages.
As an artist, I am concerned with how local engagement and the intrinsic value of neighborhoods can be recognized in a time marked by unrest—ecological, economic, and democratic. Vågsbunnen Voices is part of my ongoing exploration of art as a civil and peaceful counterforce: a form of peace work on a small scale, shaped through encounters between people, places, and stories.
